How do I insert a video in my newsletter?

As for today, there isn’t a big support from the e-mail clients for videos clips in newsletters. Instead, we’ll provide you with a cheat sheet of how you can fake it and make it look like there’s a video in your newsletter. Once the reader clicks on it, he or she will be redirected to a landing page such as YouTube or Vimeo to watch the actual video. On the bright side, you’ll also get click records of your readers action (see your detailed report for link clicks).

Step-by-step

To create a link to a video clip, you must first take a screenshot of your video, wherever it is online.

  1. Add a photo block in the block editor (draft).

  2. Click Browse to go to the File Manager.

  3. Upload the screenshot in our file manager.

  4. Click on the picture to insert the picture in to your draft.

  5. In edit mode, click on the link “Show more settings”.

  6. In the field “Link image”, paste the hyperlink (URL-link) to the site where the video is (eg. YouTube or Vimeo).

  7. We recommend that you fill in “Alternative text” which gives you the chance to explain the content of the video.

  8. When you are finished, click “Done” to save the information.
