If there are any errors during the import it will be presented immediately in the tool. For example, if you have spelled a e-mail address wrong the tool will ask you to type in the correct e-mail address before proceeding. Below, we list the different types of errors that may occur when you import your contacts:
1. Missing values
Means that the e-mail addresses are not successfully imported because they weren’t placed in rows in a document and/or hasn’t ant commas, tabs or semicolon that separates the e-mail addresses from each other.
Why did the error occur?
If you have copy/pasted your contacts manually you might have forgotten to put a comma, tab or semicolon between two e-mail addresses. A tip is to write down your e-mail addresses in to an Excel document (in separate rows) and copy/paste them in to the tool or try to upload the file instead.
2. Invalid email address
Means that the e-mail address is lacking an @- sign or the domain (eg. .com) is missing. In that case, does not import the contact. Correct the e-mail address to your list and import the contact again.
3. Too long e-mail address
Means that the e-mail address is longer than 250 characters. In such cases, the tool does not import the contact. Make sure the e-mail address really is correctly stated.
4. The first name is too long
The first name can’t be longer than 50 characters. First names are limited to 50 characters and the rest will be erased and deleted from your contact information in the tool.
5. The last name is too long
The last name can’t be longer than 50 characters. Last names are limited to 50 characters and the rest will be erased and deleted from your contact information in the tool.
6. Attribute is too long
An attribute can’t be longer than 250 characters. The contact will be imported but only the first 250 characters of the attribute will be imported with the contact information and be presented in the tool. The rest will be removed and deleted.
